Kids With ADHD

Channel energy, find focus, embrace control.

Unlocking potential

Children with ADHD often bring creativity, enthusiasm and plenty of energy. Our classes help them put that energy to good use. Through clear structure and steady encouragement, we help them practice focus and self-regulation.

Structure that supports focus

Every child's experience with ADHD is different. Short, clear drills, a set routine from bow-in to bow-out, and moments of stillness give children a steady frame for practicing attention.

Practicing control

Self-regulation is a key skill. Starting and stopping on command, waiting a turn and calm breathing between drills give children repeated practice managing impulses and emotions, which can help at home and with friends.

The power of positive reinforcement

We notice small steps and progress. Belt stripes are presented only when earned, so a child knows the progress is real. That recognition builds self-esteem and the will to keep going.

Working with parents

Discipline sheets go home so you can see how your child is doing, and so the same words are used in class and at home. Kung fu is not a treatment for ADHD, and it works best alongside the guidance of your child's doctor and teachers. Speak with us about your child before the first class, and we will tell you honestly whether it is the right fit.
