Enhanced Emotional Well-Being
Confidence and calm, built week by week.
Emotional well-being is not one skill but many: feeling safe, feeling capable, feeling part of something. A good class supports all three.
Belonging
Children in a regular class come to know their instructors and classmates. Being known and welcomed matters a great deal to a young child.
Encouragement
Instructors notice effort and say so. Honest encouragement helps children believe in their own ability.
Earned progress
Because stripes are earned, they carry real meaning. Children feel proud for good reason, and that pride supports a steady sense of self.
A calm place
The bow at the beginning of class marks a change: outside worries are set aside for a while. Many children find that pause restful.
